Love the option to just get the pre-printed fabric. I have so many other supplies that the fabric only option works great for me!
I have never found a beginning hand embroidery sample done so well.
I found Alyssa at Penguin and Fish Crafters around 2015 and enjoyed her online, live sewing circle. Her patterns got me back into embroidery, which I had not done since embroidering flowers and peace signs on my jeans in the 1970s. I've made many of her patterns into small quilts and pillows. Now, I am teaching my young granddaughters to stitch and they have both made cat pillows from Alyssa's cat embroidery. I've been waiting a long time for the Mandala series since doing the first one years ago with Penguin and Fish. Love, LOVE, LOVE Penguin and Fish Patterns!
This is my first time trying embroidery so I needed something easy to get started. This kit was just the thing! The instructions and stitching videos are so helpful for a beginner. I'm sure I will be purchasing more kits.
I don’t need the hoop or floss so the fabric only subscription is the perfect thing for me.
I would highly recommend this pattern and instructions for this embroidery sampler to any new or returning stitchers. The instructions include all the information needed including different ways to transfer the design to your fabric, plus the design template is included facing both ways to assist with choosing which method to use. I am doing it for a fun refresher sampler to have as an attractive stitch reference to keep in my embroidery kit bag. Who doesn't love a fun critter. Alyssa's critters are great :)

Love, LOVE, LOVE all of the Penguin and Fish Crafter patterns! I'm crazy about these Mandala embroideries for 2024. I've been a follower and stitcher with Alyssa since the beginning, long before Lola came on the scene! Highly recommend this pattern--see my finish-- and all of the Penguin and Fish Crafter patterns.
Thank you for the pattern. As yet I have not started the project. I may not embroider the pouch, possibly a small applique instead.
I enjoyed seeing what was in both a large and small box. Definitely treasure. Lots of fabric (varying sizes) to use for stitching, floss, hoops and some other little odds and ends. Really had fun opening them !
What a fun project and a great way to learn embroidery stitches! I love that there are video tutorials that I can refer back to for future projects.
Truthfully I haven’t started the project yet but the daily instructions given are wonderful. I’m so excited to start stitching & learning from the experts. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to watch & learn a new craft! You make it look so easy😁

Such a fun introduction to hand embroidery. Instructions are easy to follow and I enjoyed the variety of stitches taught. I feel much more confident after finishing this project!

It is such a mindful activity, with simple steps, lovely colors, and a swirling design that shimmers in the air, by far the prettiest thing I've ever embroidered.
I believe I have all the colors by now! They make the best ever gifts. I add special embroidery embellishments from Penquin and Fish patterns. Love
