About the Flour Sack Towel
These towels hark back to a time when flour was purchased in cotton sacks of 50 or 100 pounds. Once the flour was gone, the cotton sacks would be cleared up, then cut and hemmed to be used as kitchen towels, cleaning clothes, or even as diapers, underwear, or sheets.
You may notice nubs and imperfections on these towels, but don't worry, these are normal and a part of the character of the towel!
FAQ’s
- Can I put an iron-on transfer pattern on this towel?
Yes! These work great with iron-on transfer patterns. You can also use your water erasable transfer marker, or Sulky Stick’n Stitch to transfer patterns to the towel.
- Are they pre-washed?
These towels are pre-washed and bleached in the factory, but for best results, we recommend washing them before stitching.
- Are these towels thick or thin?
Not too thin, and not too thick. These are perfect for embroidery projects. Plus, they do a great job at drying too - cute and functional!
